Even Union politicians are now warning against an alliance with this man

The FDP apparently deliberately planned to break the traffic light coalition. Now the first CDU politicians are warning against an alliance with the party and hope that it will fail in the election.
In the Union, the first high-ranking politicians are warning against an alliance with the FDP after the federal election. The reason for this is research by “Zeit” and “Süddeutscher Zeitung”, according to which the Liberals planned the coalition break for weeks and ultimately brought it about consciously.
“I can’t understand the black and yellow romanticism in any way,” says Dennis Radtke, head of the influential workers’ wing in the CDU, to the star. “We as the CDU have no vote to give away, especially not to a completely unreliable Lindner FDP.”
Radtke is reminiscent of the scandal under black and yellow
Radtke recalls the years of the black and yellow government, from which the so-called Mövenpick tax is particularly remembered. After a million-dollar donation from the owner of the Mövenpick Hotels, liberals campaigned for a reduction in sales tax for hotel businesses. Radtke added: “The FDP will wage a tough election campaign against us. Where else will their votes come from?”
But the Liberals are not only viewed with skepticism in the left wing of the Union party. Alexander Throm, domestic policy spokesman for the Union faction, also sharply criticized the FDP and its current chairman. “Christian Lindner seems more like a player to me than a reliable politician,” Throm told the star.
“The only thing you can rely on with Lindner is the orientation towards the FDP’s own interests.” The domestic politician complains that by joining the traffic light coalition, he wanted to establish himself as a civil force at the expense of the CDU.
CDU politician hopes that the FDP will fail at the five percent hurdle
Throm also warns against an alliance with the Liberals in terms of content: “The FDP is anything but a natural partner. Because there is almost no commonality between the CDU and FDP in social and domestic policy.” In these areas, the FDP is more left-wing than bourgeois. “Turbo naturalization after just four years was already a declared goal in the FDP’s 2021 election program,” said Throm. “The FDP with its data protection ideology is a real threat to internal security.”
The member of the Bundestag believes that the Liberals’ departure from the Bundestag would be beneficial for the Union and stable power relations in the government. “If the FDP enters the Bundestag, it will most likely need three parties to form a government. If the FDP stays outside, two will be enough,” said Throm. The FDP is currently fighting in the death zone for the five percent hurdle to return to parliament.
