National crisis in South Korea
President Yoon is banned from leaving the country

The South Korean president is being investigated for alleged treason. Now Yoon Suk Yeol has been banned from leaving the country.

Amid the worsening national crisis in South Korea, the Ministry of Justice has imposed a travel ban on President Yoon Suk Yeol. According to information from the South Korean news agency Yonhap, the exit ban is justified by the ongoing investigations against Yoon for suspected treason.

Yoon unexpectedly imposed martial law on his country on Tuesday night and lifted it again hours later after massive political resistance. On Saturday evening, an opposition motion to impeach the president failed in parliament. But public pressure against the 63-year-old continues.
