A few days before the Chancellor’s election, the Union gains slightly in the Sunday question according to the ZDF polite barometer. The distance from the AfD therefore increases.
Shortly before the planned election of Friedrich Merz (CDU) as Chancellor, the Union is again in first place, according to the ZDF polite barometer. If the Bundestag election would be the next Sunday, the CDU and CSU would come to 27 percent according to the political barometer – an increase of one percentage point compared to the previous barometer in mid -April. The AfD easily falls to 23 percent (-1 percent), but remains the second strongest force.
The SPD therefore remains at 15 percent. The Greens lose a point and reach 11 percent. The left is stable at 10 percent. FDP (4 percent) and BSW (3 percent) remain below the five percent hurdle.
Other current surveys had recently seen the AfD in front of the Union or on par. In a survey by the Forsa Institute for RTL/NTV, the AfD was a few days ago with 26 percent ahead of the Union, which came to 24 percent.
Sounded opinion on problem -solving competence new government
CDU boss Friedrich Merz is to be elected Federal Chancellor on Tuesday. The opinion of the general problem -solving competence of his federal government is shared into SPE. 48 percent of the ZDF Politbarometer respondents believe that black and red will make an important contribution to coping with the challenges in the country. Almost as many – 47 percent – doubt. The rest of the respondents indicated “don’t know”.
In terms of content, the respondents expect the future federal government primarily economic policy initiatives. When asked which of five subject areas the new government should take care of, 45 percent called “economy” and 21 percent “social affairs”. According to Politbarometer, the “Asylum/Refugees” area considers only 12 percent to the most pressing task, “defense” and “climate protection” each. The remaining 2 percent indicated “don’t know”.
Clear attitude required to Trump
After the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s government, 74 percent of those surveyed also advocate a tough line towards the US president. Only 14 percent are in favor of accommodating his demands.
Election surveys are generally affected with uncertainties. Among other things, waning party bindings and more and more short -term election decisions make it more difficult for opinion research institutes the weighting of the data collected. Basically, surveys only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey and are not forecasts for any election outputs.
