Ukraine complains about Russia’s worst attack since the beginning of the war. Donald Trump reacts angry and asks himself: “What is going on with Putin?”
In view of the continued Russian attack on Ukraine, US President Donald Trump has expressed unusually sharp words about Russian President Vladimir Putin. “He got absolutely crazy! He unnecessarily kills a lot of people, and I don’t just speak of soldiers,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Rakets and drones are shot on cities in Ukraine, without any reason.” He always had a good relationship with Putin, “but something happened to him,” added the US President.
At the same time, he warned that every attempt to conquer the entire Ukrainian territory in the course of his invasion would lead to Russia. He himself “always said that he wants the whole Ukraine, not just a piece of it,” said Trump with reference to Putin. “Maybe that turns out to be right, but if he does it, it will lead to Russia’s downfall,” wrote Trump.
“I’m not happy with what Putin does. He kills a lot of people. And I don’t know what happened to hell with Putin. I have known him for a long time,” Trump said to journalists. When asked by a journalist, whether he is also considering new sanctions against Russia, Trump said: “Absolutely, he kills many people, I don’t know what’s wrong with him.”
Russia attacks the entire Ukraine
Ukraine complains about the worst war attack in a long time. The Russian army once again attacked the country with great swarms of drones at night. In the early morning, the Ukrainian Air Force on the Telegram platform also warned of new attacks by Russia’s strategic Air Force. The air alarm was then expanded to the whole country.
In many places, the flight defense took action, the media reported numerous explosions. In contrast to previous rocket and drone attacks, the authorities had no reports on possible victims or damage until the early morning.
As the Ukrainian Air Force announced, Russian drones attacked the port city of Odessa from the Black Sea. In the city of Charkiw in the east of the country, series of strong explosions could be heard, as regional military administrator Oleh Synjehubow announced on Telegram.
Since the combat drones from different directions were flown into the Ukrainian airspace, there was no focus of the attacks. With the entry of larger groups of drones, the Russian military tries to overload the Ukrainian air defense.
The Russian armed forces had massively bombed the neighboring country on Saturday and Sunday with rockets, marching air bodies and hundreds of drones. On Sunday alone, at least twelve people were killed and almost 80 injured. For its part, Ukraine let drones fly towards Moscow over and over again. Some airports from the Russian capital therefore had to stop starting and landing.
US special officer to Putin: “Stop killing”
The US special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, had sharply condemned the youngest Russian air strikes before Donald Trump. “The indiscriminately killing of women and children at night in their houses is a clear violation of the Geneva Peace Protocols of 1977, which serve the protection of innocent,” wrote the former general on the platform X. “These attacks are shameful. Stopping the killing now.” Kellogg did not directly call Russia in his post.
