More and more right -wing extremist youth groups

Bald and jumping boots were yesterday, today there are insta videos and gaming platforms. The right -wing extremist scene is getting younger and more modern. How big is the danger on the net?

They give themselves names such as “Unitas Germanica”, “Zollern-Youth Active” or “Störtrupp Süd”: In Germany, more and more youthful right-wing extremist groups are sprouting out of the ground. The adolescents and young adults network and radicalize themselves often on social media, as the Baden-Württemberg constitutional protection announced. The compilations could largely be classified as neo -Nazi.

“Basically, right-wing extremist agitation in virtual space, both nationwide and in Baden-Württemberg, has increased significantly in recent years, especially since the summer of 2024,” the constitutional protectors write. In addition to demonstrations and rallies, the right -wing extremists would also organize joint hikes or martial arts training. The security authorities rate the potential for violence of young right -wing extremists as high.

LGBTQ hatred as “door opener”

Enemies are, for example, people of Muslim faith, foreigners or people from the left political spectrum. In particular, the fight against the LGBTQ community is “a kind of door opener” to turn to the right-wing extremist scene, writes the Baden-Württemberg Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) in an answer to a request from the SPD parliamentary group.

The problem is growing elsewhere: Thuringia’s President of the Constitution Stephan Kramer had warned a few days ago against a new right youth culture and turbo radicalization in the digital space.
