STORY: Haven’t you ever wanted to fly? Glide over everyone else like a bird? Outsmart gravity? Then these Michael Jordan personal shoes might be worth trying. One-of-a-kind pieces by the basketball legend will soon be up for auction at Christie’s auction house, five pairs of sneakers and a hand-signed collector’s card. The title of the auction is “Six Rings – Legacy of the Goat” – where Goat stands for “Greatest of All Time”. Christie’s anticipates total proceeds of $4 million. The number of six objects is no coincidence, but a nod to the six NBA championships that Jordan led his Chicago Bulls to in the ’90s. Back then, Jordan also revolutionized the sneaker market. Among the five sneakers up for auction is the Michael Jordan PE Low XII. Jordan himself signed the black pair after wearing them against the Utah Jazz during the 1998 NBA Finals. This pair alone could fetch around $700,000 at auction.
