Special jumper Sigurd Pettersen set the previous record in December 2003 at 143.5 meters. In contrast to training, PCR jumping is considered an official FIS competition, so hill records are counted. Special jumpers usually approach with less run-up than combined jumpers.

Due to less than ideal weather forecasts for the weekend, the PCR jumping could definitely be used for one of the two competitions. Rehrl would then go second in the 10K cross-country, a second behind compatriot and treble winner Johannes Lamparter (135m out of a hatch lower).

Behind German World Cup runner-up Julian Schmid (+8 seconds) was Mario Seidl from Salzburg (+43). The Tyrolean Lukas Greiderer was disqualified because of inadequate air permeability in his jump suit.
