Blau-Weiß-Linz sports director Tino Wawra and managing director Christoph Peschek met for the first time today, Tuesday, after it became known that the 43-year-old would switch to league rival SKN St. Pölten in the summer. The result: An early termination of the contract is off the table, Wawra and Blau-Weiss will continue working together until the summer.

Only the area of ​​responsibility has changed: the Linz sports director will no longer be responsible for squad planning. Peschek and BW trainer Gerald Scheiblehner will initially take on these tasks until a successor can be found. However, Wawra will continue to carry out day-to-day business. “For us, the focus is on sporting success, achieving our major goals of winning the championship and promotion to the Bundesliga. This requires absolute focus – therefore the best possible framework conditions with as much normality and calm as possible for the fighting team. In today’s conversation, we dealt with the current situation very intensively and came to the joint decision that sports director Tino Wawra will fulfill his contract, which expires at the end of the season, by then. All preliminary work regarding squad planning for the new season was handed over to the club today and it will no longer be implemented. It has also been discussed that he will continue to take care of day-to-day operations and will be available for a proper handover to his successor.”
