For goalkeeper coach Robert Almer, yesterday’s game of the Austrian national team in the European Championship qualifier against Estonia was probably the last in his function, reports the “Kleine Zeitung”. The 39-year-old has held the post of goalkeeper coach at ÖFB since 2019.
In the future he should devote himself fully to his training as a physiotherapist. The ÖFB has not yet confirmed the departure.
Is the successor to Sturm Graz coming?
A possible successor candidate is already being discussed: Stefan Loch from Bundesliga club Sturm Graz. The 40-year-old is currently the goalkeeper coach for the Styrians. According to the report, there have already been talks between Loch and the ÖFB. However, Sturm should not want to let Loch go completely, but would only be willing to turn him off for ÖFB courses.
