Internacional and Nacional sealed a two-way tie

Inter and Nacional drew 2-2 at Beira-Rio this Wednesday, in a match for date 3 of CONMEBOL group B – Copa Libertadores 2023.

The goals of the match for the locals were scored by Gabriel Mercado (10′ 1T) and Carlos de Pena (37′ 2T). While away goals were scored by Diego Zabala (38′ 1T) and Fabián Noguera (45′ 2T).

A great play by Inter, 37 minutes into the second half, was the one that moved the score thanks to Carlos de Pena. Lucca sent a cross, which dominated the shuttlecock and kicked past Sergio Rochet Álvarez.

Although Internacional dominated with 21 total shots compared to 11 on the visit and possession of the ball was 68% against 32%, the match did not go beyond a tie.

Facundo Tello Figueroa was the referee who directed the match at Beira-Rio.

Inter’s next match in the championship will be as a visitor against Metropolitanos, while Nacional will visit Independiente Medellín.

Nacional remains firm in the tournament and is the leader of Group B, with 7 points, while Internacional is in second place with 5 points.
