Fists flew in the football lower house – again. The negative reports in recent weeks about ugly scenes on sports fields in the local football lower house are increasing: After scuffles in Schalchen and St. Martin near Traun, the sports field in Buchkirchen was the scene of a violent scandal yesterday, Wednesday: in the reserve supplement from Buchkirchen against Blaue Elf Wels (1st class, middle west), the situation escalated completely after a yellow-red card for a guest player.

After the exclusion, referee Sylejman Fejziu is said to have been verbally abused by a Blue Elf player, whereupon the referee also referred the said kicker from the field. Then he was even attacked with a fist by another Welser player. The 33-year-old referee was just able to turn away, so he was only hit in the neck area – and not in the face.

Fejziu stopped the game immediately and was then escorted to the dressing room by officials from the home team. The police even had to come to ensure the referee’s safe journey home. The reason for this was also crazy threats from guest players. These were: “How do you intend to get home? We will be waiting for you in all directions and will hold you accountable.”

“Don’t let it get me down”

Scenes that the referee concerned will probably not forget for a long time. Fejziu has been in charge of games in the Upper Austrian amateur sector since 2020. “But I won’t let that get me down. It was always my dream to be a referee. I’ve been able to live this for three years and I won’t let it take me either,” says Fejziu in the OÖN interview.

He already has the opportunity to get the scandal out of his head today: He will lead the third round in the Upper Austria Ladies Cup between Kematen/Rohr/Neuhofen and Krenglbach (7 p.m.). “I’m fully focused on the game, I’m looking forward to the game.”
