With every round, the title chances of the LASK Amateure Oberösterreich in the regional league middle become smaller: they are four points behind leaders Leoben, so the Styrians have to stumble twice.
The past few weeks have given little hope: with ten wins in a row, the team of ex-Rapid and Bayern Munich attacker Carsten Jancker stormed towards promotion to the second division. Can Deutschlandsberg slow down Leoben on Friday?
The LASK Amateure Oberösterreich have to keep up the pressure with a win in Kalsdorf. Regardless of which league will be played in the coming season, one thing is certain: coach Patrick Enengl has extended his contract. “He has proven that he is an absolute expert in the field of player development,” said LASK Managing Director Sport Radovan Vujanovic about the former U18 trainer at the academy. “It’s a lot of fun working with the guys. The development is constantly going up,” said Enengl. “The appreciation I feel from the whole club means a lot to me.” He paved the way for Luca Wimhofer and Gabriel Zirngast to make their Bundesliga debuts.
Goalkeeper talent Lukas Jungwirth was also tied to LASK in the long term: the 19-year-old signed until 2026. With Tobias Lawal, who will be number one in the Bundesliga next season after Alexander Schlager left, and Nikolas Polster, currently on Forward Steyr awarded, three junior team goalkeepers are under contract with LASK.
Sulimani double pass at WSC Hertha?
League competitor WSC Hertha also set the course for the future: Harun Sulimani, currently still active as a striker, becomes sports director. Whether the 31-year-old will play the one-two with his brother is an open question: coach Emin Sulimani has not yet extended his contract, which runs until the summer.
