Goalkeeper Thomas Eichberger is not in Austria’s squad for the European Handball Championships starting on Wednesday in Germany.

The ÖHB announced this just a few hours before the final test match in Linz against Iceland this month.
Even without Eichberger, who was hired at Krems, the 16-man squad has two goalkeepers in Ralf Patrick Häusle and Constantin Möstl. Austria will face Romania (Friday), Croatia (Sunday) and Spain (Tuesday) in Group B in Mannheim. The two best teams in each group advance to the main round.
