As in the previous year, a Ferrari wins the motorsport classic in France. Third place in the Hypercar category also goes to the Italian brand. Mick Schumacher and his team are eliminated early.

Ferrari has triumphed again at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the team of Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark, Miguel Molina from Spain and Antonio Fouco from Italy, the Maranello-based brand took victory. The winning team completed 311 laps of the 13.626-kilometer course, covering a total of 4,238.686 kilometers. It was Ferrari’s eleventh overall victory in the classic since 1949.

Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria Lopez and Nyck de Vries came in second in the Toyota, ahead of the second Ferrari with Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi. The trio had taken the overall victory a year ago.

The Porsche team, led by the German three-time Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer, started from pole position and missed the podium by 1.167 seconds. Debutant Mick Schumacher did not reach the finish. After an engine defect on the Alpine hypercar, one of his two French teammates had to park the car on Saturday evening. The team only managed 88 laps, Mick Schumacher completed 33 of them and was impressive.

The 92nd edition was otherwise characterized by several safety car phases over almost seven hours. The reason for this was sometimes heavy rain or a large number of accidents.
