The Russian striker of the Fiorentina football club Alexander Kokorin became a laureate in one of the nominations of the Football urn prize, which is awarded to the worst players of the Italian Serie A in a calendar year. This is reported on the website of the Calciobidoni Prize.
He became the winner of the “Laughing stock” nomination of the season, gaining 53.21% of the votes, says the newspaper “Sport-Express”.
He beat Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot (22.02) and Salernitana player Sima (9.17%). A total of 48 players were nominated for the award.
“The Russian striker, always promising, a talent that was never fully revealed, he only brought disappointment to his club,” the organizers of the award noted.
At the same time, Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey became the winner of the Golden Urn award as the worst player. He got 23.58% of the vote and was ahead of Vedata Muriki (Lazio, 22.54). The third was Juventus midfielder Artur Melo (15.75).
A year ago, Kokorin moved to Fiorentina from Spartak for € 4.5 million. The contract of the Russian striker with the Italian club is valid until 2024. At the same time, it was reported in the summer that the Italian club is considering the option of selling Kokorin. Several clubs from Russia and the Middle East can purchase an athlete.
Kokorin is 30 years old. For all his time at the club, he spent nine matches, not being noted for effective actions and having missed most of the games due to injuries.
