Historic Derrick Rose, the youngest NBA MVP, retires

Rose was a standout for teams such as the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies. He played a total of 723 regular season games and 52 playoff games.

Despite Lebron James’ great first year in Miami, Derrick Rose managed to be the MVP of that year, and became the youngest MVP in history. He achieved this after scoring 25.0 points, 7.7 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37.4 minutes.

Thus, he was able to be part of the All-Star and All-NBA in the 2010-11 season, although he had previously been an All-Rookie in the 2008-09 season.

After 2011, he had a relapse with the Bulls and went through ups and downs with different teams. Knee injuries conditioned him throughout his career, especially a serious tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in 2012.

His last stint was with the Memphis Grizzlies, with more of a role as an advisor to young players and a point of reference than as an undisputed player.
