Tennis player Andrei Rublev reached the third round of the Australian Open

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev won the second round of the Australian Open (Australian Open). On Thursday, January 20, the Sport-Express newspaper reported.

In three sets, the 24-year-old athlete outplayed Rakardas Berankis from Lithuania – 6:4, 6:2, 6:0.

The game lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes. The Russian completed 11 aces, made three double faults and converted six out of 15 break points.

His opponent twice managed to serve right through, became the author of five double faults and was never able to take the opponent’s serve.

Thus, Rublev reached the third round of the competition and in the next match he will fight the winner of the match Norbert Gombos (Slovakia) – Marin Cilic (Croatia).

On January 18, in the first round, Rublev defeated the Italian Gianluca Mager with a score of 6:3, 6:2, 6:2.

The Open Tennis Tournament takes place in Melbourne (Australia). The total prize fund of the competition is $54 million.
