Kroos counts the DFB team among the “top teams in the world”
After the European Championship exit, Toni Kroos ended his glorious career. He himself believes that the national team is not weakened by this. He doesn’t want the coaching role – for one crucial reason.
Former world champion Toni Kroos sees the German national soccer team back among the world’s best even after his retirement. “Germany is once again one of the top teams in the world. But it is still too early to talk about being favorites at the World Cup,” said the 34-year-old in an interview with “Focus online”. But the conditions for a triumph in 2026 are good, said Kroos: “We have very good players who will improve even further before the World Cup.”
A coaching career is currently out of the question for Kroos, who will be honored with the “Bambi” in Munich this evening for his sporting career and his social commitment. The six-time Champions League winner said that he was convinced “that I would bring a little something to the coaching job”: “But I don’t want to get back into a rhythm so quickly that I consciously left behind: from the morning Being involved until the evening, a lot of traveling, sleeping in hotels – that’s what has tired me out over the years.”
“Not a typical househusband”
