With the presence of the presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and from Peru, Dina Boluartethe first phase of the Chancay port complex, 78 kilometers north of Lima, was inaugurated last Friday, a large-scale project led by Cosco Shipping Companya state-owned company of the Asian giant dedicated to maritime transport.
The president Boluarte presented the project as a potential “neural center” that will link Latin America with Asiastrengthening commercial links between both continents. It could create 8,000 jobs and generate $4.5 billion in economic activity annually.
As reported by Cosco Shipping, Chancay is a natural deep-water port, has four docks and has an advantageous geographical location and fluid logistical connectivity.
