Xabi Alonso becomes a trainer at Real Madrid
Now Real has confirmed it: Xabi Alonso will be the new coach of the Madrilenen. The royal people don’t even announce it 24 hours after Carlo Ancelotti’s farewell to Bernabéu.
Xabi Alonso is the new trainer from Real Madrid. The 43-year-old former professional of royal professionals takes over the post on June 1st and thus before the World Club Championship in the USA, in which Real Madrid will also compete. The tournament with 32 clubs will take place in the USA from June 14 to July 13.
Alonso signed a contract for three years, it is now valid until June 30, 2028. He is to be presented in the Ciudad Real Madrid on Monday.
As expected, Bayer Leverkusen’s success coach will succeed Carlo Ancelotti. The highly decorated Italian, like the long -time playmaker Luka Modric, had emotionally said goodbye to fans on Saturday after the last home game of the Madrilenen in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti becomes the new national coach of Brazil after his second term.
Madrid is only Xabi Alonso’s second station as a professional trainer
For Alonso it is a return to an old place of work. From 2009 to 2014, the BASKE played for Real before moving to FC Bayern Munich. The trainer engagement in the Spanish capital had been emerging for a long time.

After weeks of speculation around his future, Alonso had first announced the end of his term in Leverkusen and officially said goodbye before the home game against Borussia Dortmund. He had been celebrated by the Leverkusen fans for minutes. There was a street sign with the inscription “Xabi-Alonso-Allee” from the club.
