Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo further fueled speculation about a change of club with a contribution on social media. “This chapter has been completed. The story is still written. I am still grateful. I am all grateful,” the Portuguese wrote on Instagram and X to a photo that shows him in the jersey of his current association al-Nassr FC.

Short-term transfer for Ronaldo possible
The 40-year-old has been rumored for a long time-not least because of the club World Cup that is up to this summer. It was only at the weekend that FIFA President Gianni Infantino had promised that Ronaldo could be there at the Club World Cup by changing the club. The summer transfer period modified by the World Football Association makes this theoretically possible, said Infantino. FIFA enables the participating clubs short-term transfer. The Saudi Club Al-Nassr, in which Ronaldo has been under contract since 2023, does not take part in the club World Cup, which takes place in the USA with 32 teams from June 14 to July 13, including FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
