The current generation with a big guarantee will live to see the technologies of immortality, says Mikhail Batin, the scientist, head of the Science Against Aging Foundation and the public organization Open Longevity.
Talking on January 4 about the main trends in the search for immortality to the portal “Lenta.ru”, the scientist first of all singled out transplantation.
“This direction will receive a new development when we learn to grow organs using bioincubators, therapeutic cloning, xenotransplantation, when a human organ is grown in an animal. Next to it is regenerative medicine – the ability to stimulate these processes in the body itself, ”he said.
He also noted that in order to achieve a breakthrough in the issue of immortality, one must be able to simulate the activity of the brain. While scientists have little to say about how consciousness works, they are actively working in this direction.
Batin emphasized that studying the mechanisms of aging is key in the search for immortality. In this case, the words “aging” and “time” should not be confused.
“Aging is a set of biological processes, when proteins break down, products of chemical reactions, metabolites accumulate, and the body gets littered. And removing this junk is a significant task. On the other hand, the work of the genome is also changing, it is necessary to ensure that it functions like a young one, ”the scientist noted.
Batin also explained that the main thing in the authorities is not their presence, but the performance of their functions. Therefore, it is important to recreate not the organ itself, but its function.
In the fight against aging, artificial intelligence can also help, which can collect and process information.
Earlier, in November 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the importance of artificial intelligence for the benefit of humans. The Russian leader believes that it is necessary to ensure the safety of new technologies for mankind, so that they work “for the benefit of man, help save the planet and ensure its sustainable development.”
