During a period of high inflation, it is extremely difficult to invest, and the best way to invest for non-professionals right now is with ETF indexes, which have anti-inflationary themes. Ararat Mkrtchyan, co-founder of the Beta FT index company, told Izvestia about this, commenting on reports of the growth of fake domains for crypto investors on Tuesday, January 11.

Earlier on the same day, Group-IB experts said that from 2018 to the third quarter of 2021, they identified more than 8 thousand domains created by scammers for trading stocks and cryptocurrencies. In total, more than 50 different schemes of fake investment projects were discovered. Novice investors are offered to invest in cryptocurrencies, purchase of shares of oil and gas companies, gold, pharmaceuticals and other “assets”.
Mkrtchyan advises investing in indices that invest in shares of the beneficiaries of price increases: the consumer sector, commodities, and the financial sector.
According to him, the market behaves in different directions, capital flows both between regions and between assets in search of a safe haven during a period of uncertainty.
“The main guidelines for an investor are macro factors, and at the same time, individual fundamental indicators of companies are of lesser importance in this period,” said Ararat Mkrtchyan.
At the end of December, Izvestia, citing the rating of the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza, reported that Bitcoin, new buildings and shares of the American stock market brought the greatest profitability to retail investors in 2021. With the help of such instruments, it was possible to increase the size of their savings by 25–65%. Investments in euro, gold and OFZ turned out to be the least profitable – their annual profitability either did not change, or went into the negative zone. The return on investment is directly proportional to the risk, experts recalled.
