“Based on our initial investigations, we believe the suspect knew the victim,” the Metropolitan Police said. The emergency services were called to the scene in the southern district of Croydon in the morning. Together with paramedics, they provided first aid, but the girl died on the spot. The investigators initially did not provide any information about the background to the crime.
“I know there are many questions that remain about what happened here today,” said Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain. Investigators worked to find answers to these questions.
