Russia has developed a high-speed charging station for electric vehicles

Specialists of the Chelyabinsk NPO Elektromashina (part of the Uralvagonzavod concern of the Rostec state corporation) have developed a quick-charging station for electric vehicles. This was announced on February 16 by the director for strategic and innovative development of the enterprise Leonid Zelepukhin.

“We have developed a powerful quick-charging station for electric vehicles, which has no analogues in Russia. The station is equipped with an intelligent system that provides video analytics, environmental monitoring and the possibility of distributing free Wi-Fi. Additionally, charging stations can be equipped with an energy storage system in case of insufficient power at the connection point. A station with a capacity of 150 kW allows you to charge an electric car by 80% in 20 minutes, ”TASS quotes him.

It is noted that the first two charging stations for 44 kW and 150 kW will be manufactured this spring and installed in Chelyabinsk. It is planned to put them into operation in the summer.

On October 15, it was reported that in Russia by mid-2021 there were 12,290 passenger electric vehicles.

Most of all – Nissan Leaf hatchbacks, namely 9273 units, which is 75.5% of the total number of electric cars in the country. In second place is the Mitsubishi I-MiEV with 443 units. This is followed by the Porsche Taycan (369 units), which appeared on the market in the fall of 2020, but has already taken third place in the electric fleet.
