Mitsubishi will bring to Russia a new generation of the crossover Outlander

The Japanese company Mitsubishi will introduce a new generation of the Outlander crossover to the Russian market. But there are no preliminary dates for the start of sales. This was reported by Autonews on February 21, citing Osamu Iwaba, president and chief executive officer of MMS Rus.

At the same time, the top manager emphasized that the production of this model for Russia would be arranged at the PSMA Rus plant in Kaluga.

The main difference between the new Outlander and the third-generation model is the new CMF-C / D platform with a rear multi-link suspension, like the Nissan X-Trail.

The car is made in a new design concept Dynamic Shield. In particular, the high line of the hood and pointed lines of optics are now at the level of the grille. In addition, the car has a large spoiler, new lights, bifurcated exhaust pipes.

Inside the car, a digital dashboard, a multimedia system with a large touch screen are installed. In expensive trim levels, the seats are trimmed in leather. The driver has access to three-zone climate control, a navigation system, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, and adaptive cruise control.

The car received a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, which was also borrowed from the Nissan X-Trail. Engine power is 181 hp. Transmission – CVT Jatco.

On May 14, it became known that Mitsubishi Motors is ending production of the fourth-generation Pajero SUV, which has been produced since 2006.

The Japanese have prepared the final batch of 800 cars in a special version of the Final Edition. Such machines will be sold on the market in Australia.

In Europe, the SUV stopped selling back in 2018, and the model finally left Russia in the fall of 2019.
