Recently, the brand reached a milestone, the output of its 14 millionth plug-in unit from its power lines production, a Song Pro that introduces an important technological novelty: It is BYD’s first PHEV compatible with biofuels, seeking to reduce the CO footprint throughout the entire use cycle.

The basis of this innovation is DM-i (Dual Mode Intelligent) technology, adapted exclusively for the Brazilian market, using ethanol as a complementary fuel. The Song Pro COP30 special edition, which will go towards the upcoming UN climate summit in Brazil, symbolizes BYD’s commitment to green and sustainable solutions. Wang Chuanfu, founder and CEO of BYDhighlighted that this advance not only represents a technological leap, but also a response adapted to the energy particularities of Brazil.

Initially, The factory can produce 150,000 vehicles per year, with plans to expand to 300,000 units in a second phase and eventually up to 600,000, becoming the largest plug-in vehicle plant in Latin America and generating employment for 1,500 people.
