Toyota is forced to stop car production at all of its facilities in Japan for a day on March 1 due to alleged cyber attacks on one of its largest component suppliers. It is reported by Nikkei Asia.
It is noted that the decision to suspend the production of cars was made by the company’s management after one of the main suppliers of the automaker was subjected to powerful hacker attacks, as a result of which the electronic supply management system failed.
According to the publication, the resumption of car production is expected on March 2. Due to the shutdown of all factories in Japan, the automaker’s plan will be underfulfilled by about 10 thousand cars.
On January 26, Toyota introduced the third-generation Sequoia SUV. The car was built on the TNGA-F platform, which is also used by the Land Cruiser 300 SUV. The front of the novelty is unified with the latest generation Tundra pickup truck. The headlights, hood and front fenders are borrowed from the model, but the SUV has its own bumper and grille design with a large hexagonal pattern. Also, the new Sequoia received LED lights.
