Patenting of 0 km cars fell from 2.6% in April

In relation to the previous month, the fall was 8.5%, since in March 34,569 units had been patented.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of the year, 138,878 units were patented, 7.1% less than in the same period of 2021, when 149,566 vehicles were registered.

“This week was important because the auto parts and terminal companies raised the seriousness of the situation and the need to apply urgent measures, a request that was echoed by the Government; we now hope that in the coming days the arrival of parts and units will be facilitated, and the situation gradually unravels,” Salomé added.

For the executive, “with a macroeconomic situation that has begun to improve and several sectors that show growing economic activity, with an insignificant amount of foreign exchange, which the State would more than recover in taxes and generation of resources, the automotive industry is going to also be a main axis of dynamism”.

“We have achieved a greater integration of national parts in cars and today 50% of everything that is patented is national, but we are at a crucial moment of the year where we can go towards a market of the long-awaited 400,000 units, or stay on our hands crossed and continue to suffer from a lack of vehicles, lamenting the loss of operations and rejecting clients,” he specified.

For this reason, he concluded, “we are going to continue insisting on the importance of stimulating our sector so that all related activities and industries also multiply activity and feed the virtuous circle of productivity.”

by brands, Toyota led the April ranking with 6,063 units (20.7% of the total); followed by Fiat, 4,378 (15%); Volkswagen, 3,803 (13%); Renault, 3,087 (10.6%) and Peugeot, 2,794 (9.6%).
