The CAC, on the other hand, reported that the sale of used cars fell 7.05% in April, compared to March, and that accentuates the fall in the first four months of the year, compared to 2021.

The entity indicated that 510,023 units were sold in the first four months of the year, a drop of 6.07% compared to the same period in 2021 (542,982 vehicles).

Last April, 130,384 used vehicles were sold in Argentina, an increase of 1.47% compared to the same month of 2021 (128,481 units), although compared to March 2022 (140,248 vehicles), the decrease reaches 7.05%.

The president of the CCA, Alberto Príncipe, expressed that “the market continues without picking up” and that “with a narrow production of the terminals to satisfy the internal demand, the problem of supplying 0km and used cars is getting more and more complicated”.

However, he recalled that “our optimism grows if we take the words of the President (Alberto Fernández) that the government was working to provide more foreign currency to the sector, both terminals and auto parts.”

35,092 vehicles were patented in May

As confirmed by the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic, the number of patented vehicles during May 2022 amounted to 35,092 units, which represents an increase of 9.9% with respect to the previous month, since last April 31,923 units had been patented. If the comparison is year-on-year, a growth of 53% is observed since in May 2021 22,931 units had been registered. In this way, in the five accumulated months of the year, 174,257 units were patented, this is 1% more than in the same period of 2021, in which 172,497 vehicles had been registered.
