What are the only 8 0 km cars worth less than $3 million

This increase is driven by a limited supply, as a result of the lack of units due to the obstacles to imports, added to a demand that maintains some pressure.

“The market has its days. May was quiet, but this first week of June got better. It may be that this is due to the fact that the sellers are adjusting the prices to the reality of the market”, they explained from a dealership. The “dealer” alluded to a drop in the level of premiums that had been demanded in recent months due to a greater demand than supply. This, as Ámbito anticipated last month, began to fade.

In recent days, the price lists for June have arrived at the dealerships. Some cars that were close to $3,000,000 ended up making the jump and that caused that today there are only 8 passenger models that are below that value. For example, the Toyota Yaris is one of those that broke that ceiling and cost $3,079,000 for its entry-level version.

The most affordable 0km on the market are the Toyota Etios and the Fiat Mobi, which cost $2,456,000 and $2,485,100. In the case of the Japanese brand, it offers the Etios Aibo version, at a lower price, but it is a cargo vehicle

One step higher are the Fiat Cronos, in its Attractive version, and the Chevrolet Joy, a five-door to which is added the Joy Plus, which is the four-door version and costs $100,000 more. Their list prices are $2,723,600 and $2,817,000. In these cases they are the most accessible versions since those with the most equipment are above three million.

Then there are a lot of models that are very close to that value, between $2,900,000 and $3,000,000. They are, for example, the Renault Logan and Sandero, the Volkswagen Polo Trend and the Nissan Versa. The latter is curious to cost $2,999,000. With the raise they receive next month, they will surely jump over three million.

These examples are based on the official lists, but as already pointed out, the market is managed with overpricing. That is, if you take transaction values into account, some of these models are no longer available for less than $3,000,000.

The reduction of the surcharges that is being registered has to do with the rise in dollars of the 0km. With prices in pesos on the rise and an ironed “blue”, the benefit that buyers obtained months ago is no longer the same. This causes the demand to decrease.

The marginal exchange rate is at the same value as last September or October. In that period, the 0km were adjusted in pesos by more than 50% and caused an increase in prices in dollars.

Today more pesos are needed than 9 months ago or more dollars, because the blue is stable. So buyers do not have the same incentive as in 2021”, they commented in another dealership.

Nor did the official dollar rise at the rate of 0km prices. That is why, measured at that exchange rate, the cheapest cars on the market already cost about 20,000.

The other reason why there are few models under $3,000,000 is that many cars in the small segment have been discontinued in the last two years. Volkswagen Gol, Nissan March, Renault Kwid, Chery QQ, Ford Ka, Fiat Uno were some of the “boys” that disappeared. This was due to different reasons. In some cases, it was a consequence of the brands’ strategy of ceasing to produce them globally or due to new security requirements, but in the Argentine case there is a factor that has to do with the market profile towards which it is improving.

Faced with the economic crisis, the devaluation and the limitations to import, the brands aim to market vehicles aimed at consumers with greater purchasing power that ensures better profitability. For example, the pickup truck boom.

In this scheme, the vehicles of the lowest segment are not presented as an interesting option.
