It is the first new Bugatti presentation since it was sold to the Croatian electric car specialist Rimac – and thus probably the last combustion engine to be newly developed by Bugatti. The performance data can definitely compete with any electric car.

“Last year we sparked great enthusiasm with the ‘Bolide’. After the presentation, many enthusiasts and collectors asked us to develop a production vehicle for the experimental vehicle ‘Bolide’. I was overwhelmed by the reactions and feedback from customers all over the world”, explains Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti, “We have therefore decided to run a small series of the ‘Bolide’ in order to give 40 customers the chance to experience this incredible vehicle. Our team is now developing a series model, the ultimate driving machine for the Track. “

The spectacular 16-cylinder in the Bolide should then have a full eight liters of displacement and turbocharging – those who have already been intoxicated with Veyron and Chiron will once again get to know completely new worlds with the ‘Bolide’.

The performance data then also shows the terrain actually intended for the Bugatti ‘Bolide’: Instead of being seen on the road, it should primarily be seen on the racetrack. Visually, the Bugatti ‘Bolide’ is reminiscent of a Le Mans touring car with elements of a Formula 1 vehicle. You won’t often see him there anyway: Only a small series of 40 vehicles is planned.

1600 HP, 1450 kilos curb weight – the Bugatti ‘Bolide’ is the right choice

It is powered by what is probably the most spectacular internal combustion engine currently available in the world. The already bullish, eight-liter W16 cylinder with 1600 hp gets an atmospheric performance boost to 1850 hp with 110-octane racing fuel. With a weight of 1450 kilograms, the Frenchman has a power-to-weight ratio of less than one kilogram per horsepower. The maximum torque of 1600 Nm is available from 2250 revolutions per minute.

The new hyper sports car will be developed to series production maturity over the next three years; the first deliveries are planned for 2024, at a net price of four million euros each. Then it will be electric at Bugatti, then under the Rimac roof.
