Volkswagen changes president and CEO in Argentina

With more than 20 years of experience in the Group, Puig returns to Volkswagen Argentina after working at the parent company as Global Head of Human Resources for the brand, the company said in a statement.

From 2013 to 2017, the Brazilian executive had served as Vice President of Human Resources for Volkswagen Group Argentina.

As of August, Puig, the first Brazilian to be a member of the global Executive Committee of the automaker, will report to the Argentine Paul Di YesCEO of Volkswagen Latin America.

“Marcellus has extensive international experience within the Volkswagen Group, having already had a previous stage in the Volkswagen Argentina Group,” said Di Si.

He also considered that Puig “is sure to contribute strongly to an even greater growth of our business in the country.”

Due to his past experience working in the country, Puig has extensive knowledge of the social, economic and political situation in Argentina and the region, “which implies great value for his development in his new position as president and CEO of Volkswagen Group Argentina,” the company said.

As for Owsianski, future Vice President of Sales, Marketing and After Sales for South America, he will report to Di Si in the region and functionally to Imelda Labbé, member of the brand’s Marketing, Sales and After Sales Board of Directors.

The executive president of Volkswagen Latin America underlined about Owsianski that “during his tenure he led, among several achievements, the company’s new investments in the country and the production of the Taos premium SUV at the General Pacheco plant, with a very successful introduction of the model in the South American market”.
