Cars: tire conflict halted production in September

For its part, with 34,605 units, sales to dealers were 18.6% above the August record and 34.6% in relation to the same month last year.

For the head of Adefa, Martín Galdeano, in September, despite having one day less production than August and due to the involuntary stops of some associates due to the shortage of tires, an improvement in the daily cadence was registered at the terminals.

“The conflict in the tire sector had an impact on production, temporarily slowing down the growth process shown by the industry”, he claimed.

According to Galdeano, “the active intervention of the Ministry of Economy, the Secretariat of Industry and the Ministry of Labor, together with other relevant actors in the value chain, allowed channeling the dialogue that led to a solution to the conflict, normalizing production before the impact was more significant.

“Despite this inconvenience, unprecedented for us, the numbers continue to record year-on-year improvements and this is the product of the effort and work that we have been carrying out together throughout the value chain and the Government”, concluded the head of Adefa.
