Ampere will produce, for example, the new electric Renault 5 and Renault 4, in northern France.
The group wants to take Ampere public “as soon as possible” at the end of 2023 and will thus finance, thanks to the contribution of new capital, its costly electricity transition, although it will retain a “significant majority” in this subsidiary.
Ampere wants to have expectations as bright as those of its North American rival Tesla, and foresees growth above 30% per year in the next eight years, and to reach financial equilibrium in 2025.
This new stage of its strategic plan, called “Revolution”, has to allow the French firm to achieve an operating margin of more than 8% at the group level, in 2025, and more than 10% in 2030.
Ford also announced the creation of an electric subsidiary, Model E, while the German Volkswagen took its Porsche brand public to finance its electrification.
