A paradoxical situation: you have to wait a long time for an e-car and yet there are significant discounts. We show you how long it takes for a model to be delivered and what discount you can expect.
At the end of the year, the market for e-cars is booming, many still want to secure the current bonus and the car has to be registered this year. In view of the current delivery times, this is hardly possible for spontaneous customers. Although the new cars are hard to come by, there are significant discounts. You can search for your dream car on the “” portal and receive specific offers from established dealers. The portal therefore knows exactly which cars users are looking for, what they are paying for them and when they can expect delivery.
The surprise at the end of the year: On the portal, the petrol engine has once again pushed ahead of the electric vehicles as a drive. The discussion about blackouts and the massive increase in electricity prices are likely to be responsible for this.
Sometimes waiting times of more than 12 months
Only a few e-vehicles can be obtained relatively quickly. There is only a chance of getting the car with a waiting time of less than three months with two Teslas (Model-3 and Model-Y) and the Jaguar I-Pace. The fastest available German vehicles are the Mercedes EQS with 4 months and the BMW i4 with 3 to 5 months delivery time. Around half of all e-vehicles will be waiting around six months. But a good proportion takes over 12 months. The front-runners are the VW ID-Buzz vehicles – you have to allow for a waiting time of up to 18 months. But even the ID.3 needs a year to be on the doorstep. The complete list can be found at the end of the article. Incidentally, with most vehicles it is not possible to fall back on daily registrations or the like. The dealers have no surplus electric cars in the yard.
The top ten list of the most popular e-cars is led by the Dacia Spring, followed by: Hyundai Ioniq-5, Kia EV6, Fiat 500-Elektro, Skoda Enyaq-IV. Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, Cupra Formentor Hybrid, Cupra Born Electric and MG 4. Despite the great demand, the cars are being sold well below the list price. In absolute figures, the Opel Zafira E Life leads the list of discounts, it is 21,883 euros below the list price.
