Cars: patents rise in CABA, but with a cap to cushion inflation

In the case of Patent Tax, the valuation of automobiles arises based on what is published annually by the National Registry of Automotive Property. According to the value of each car, each provincial treasury applies a certain rate. In the case of the City, this rate has been fixed for years and will not increase in 2023.

In this sense, In order to mitigate both the impact of inflation and the increase in vehicle valuations, by 2023 a ceiling of 84% will be applied.which corresponds to the accumulated inflation during the period November 2021-October 2022 by the City Consumer Price Index (IPCBA).

From the Government of Buenos Aires they assure that If this ceiling is not applied, the increase in patents would exceed 120%. They even claim that the average increase vehicle owners will get will be 75%.

New for this year the rate of vehicles with a lower valuation is reduced by 50%, whose fiscal value does not exceed one million pesos ($ 1,000,000), remaining then the same at 1.6%. That measure would reach about 320,000 domains, on the total of a register of one and a half million vehicles.

Likewise, the benefits for taxpayers will be maintained, such as the advance payment of the entire year in advance with a reduction of 10%; the extra bonus of 10% for good compliance in 2022 (it will be applied to each of the bimonthly installments of the year 2023, paying each of them on time); and for payment with automatic debit, which rewards 50% of the last bimonthly installment (Instalment 6) to those who have adhered to their payment.
