Sales of 0km cars grow, these were the most chosen

The brands most chosen by Uruguayans were Chevrolet – with 645 vehicles sold –, in second place, suzuki with 550 units sold and Citroen with less than half, compared to the first two, with 176 vehicles. These are followed Renault, Hyundai and Peugeot with 146, 139 and 123 units sold, respectively. Among the brands least chosen by Uruguayans are those of high-end vehicles, such as Audi – who sold 3 units – and Maserati with a single unit.

A promising January

Last year’s zero-mile vehicle sales were the highest in six years, showing increases in cars, sport utility vehicles and SUVs. The Uruguayans bought 143 zero kilometer vehicles per dayaccording to the annual data of the Automotive Trade Association (Acau).

Those that refer to this year, according to the ACAU, were sold in January 3,995 zero kilometer vehicleswhile in the same period last year 3,439 were sold – which would represent a sales increase of 16% – us 556 more than in 2022.

Regarding the categories, the ones that increased the most in sales – with respect to last year – were the utility with a rise of 26.7%, since 796 were sold this year and 628 last year. On the other hand, the cars They also had a nice year-over-year increase of 14% as they sold 1,960 cars this year and 1,720 last year.

Sports utility vehicles, for their part, had an increase of 7.9% since last year 896 were sold and this year 967. Trucks and minibuses also had an increase, with 253 against 190 and 17 against 3, respectively. The buses were the only category that remained the same since both in January of this year and in the previous year only 2 were sold.
