Every goodbye is difficult, but it can obviously be gilded: According to the manufacturer, the two models Invencible and Autentica were “created to celebrate the end of the V12 super sports car era” – because in a few weeks the first hybrid Lambo will celebrate its debut.
secret clientele
The vehicles are one-offs based on the famous Aventador, but differ significantly in terms of design. According to Lamborghini, the two customers who were offered one of these highly exclusive vehicles were able to participate in the design of their last V12 naturally aspirated engine from Sant’Agata Bolognese from the very beginning. The manufacturer did not want to reveal who it was when asked – maybe the cars will appear on social media at some point.
In terms of design, two completely different cars came out, one as a roadster (Invencible), the other as a convertible (Authentica). Both work with a 6.5-liter twelve-cylinder mid-engine that delivers 780 horsepower and 720 Newton meters of torque.
When it came to the rest of the technology, Lamborghini pulled everything out of a hat that racing research currently has to offer: full carbon body, carbon fiber monocoque and extremely rugged bonnets, which are intended to control the air flow as efficiently as possible.
The consoles of both vehicles have been deliberately left without instruments so that, according to Lamborghini, the driver can “concentrate on pure driving pleasure”. The company is silent on the prices of the two racers as well as on the future owners.
Probably a seven-figure price
A little approximation to help: A basic Aventador, as the model on which the cars are based, costs around 300,000 euros. A Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae (Lambo-Rambo severely damaged two super sports cars), the “mass model” for saying goodbye to V12 naturally aspirated engines, so to speak, cost 400,000 euros – and has now doubled that amount. Various media should not be wrong if they assume that the price for these vehicles was probably seven figures ex works.
