The model is presented at a festival of classics in Italy. It has handmade finishes with nods to emblematic models of the German firm.

At the glamorous festival d’Ele-ganza Villa d’Este 2023, BMW will present its new concept car, the Concept Touring Coupé, a two-seater that was developed for one-off production.

The traditional event that takes place every year in Italy, on the shores of Lake Como, is a setting for the presentation of classics. “The BMW Concept Touring Coupé celebrates original Driving Pleasure,” said Domagoj Dukec, Head of BMW Design. “A highly emotional vehicle like this demonstrates that passion for driving pleasure has been essential through the years and will be for the future,” he added.

The one-of-a-kind, handcrafted BMW Concept Touring Coupé “combines a body format steeped in tradition with the technology of a purist, modern sports car,” said a statement from the German firm. Its proportions and name refer to the BMW 328 Touring Coupé that won the Mille Miglia in 1940. The functionality of the “shooting brake” concept is a nod to the BMW 02 Series variants of the early 1970s, which featured “Touring ” in its name to distinguish itself from sedans.

The BMW Concept Touring Coupé is powered by the brand’s six-cylinder inline engine.

The design highlight of the BMW Concept Touring Coupé is its sculpted rear end. “The long trunk, aerodynamic roof contours and powerful rear section form a distinctive two-box design, while the elongated side window graphic with Hofmeister elbow and flared rear wheel arches underscore its sporty elegance.” BMW expressed.

It includes light alloy wheels, 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

The interior includes the two-tone option from Italian leather workshop Poltrona Frau, which divides the interior horizontally into two segments. It combines a handcrafted interior with state-of-the-art technology.
