It is the local subsidiary of the Daimler Truck AG group, which serves the cargo and passenger transportation segments.

Currently, the firm directly employs more than 500 people, in addition to the more than 2,000 jobs it generates through its commercial network, which has 24 dealerships and more than 45 sales and after-sales points distributed throughout the country. country.

“National production has been a central point of our strategy and concrete proof of our commitment to the country. By the end of 2023, around 70% of the trucks and bus chassis that we will have marketed will have left our local production line,” said Achim Puchert, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses Latin America.

The company has its production line in the Juan Manuel Fangio Industrial Center, in Virrey del Pino, La Matanza: there the Accelo and Atego trucks and the OH and OF bus chassis are produced. Since December 2021, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses announced a total of investments in the country for US$50 million, aimed at the acquisition and construction of a logistics and auto parts center located in Zárate, which will begin operating in the second half of the year. of 2024.

At the international level, during 2023 the automaker promoted the development of its export profile, which began last year with the first export of OH 1621/55 bus chassis to the Mexican market.

This year the company confirmed a new shipment of more than 120 chassis for Mexico and, in this way, 30% of the OH 1621/55 produced in Argentina during 2023 were destined for the export market.

Also, it is the first and only automotive company that has a parts remanufacturing plant.

By 2024, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses will seek to boost its export profile and continue with projects linked to electromobility, since its objective is to be able to introduce an electric bus chassis locally in the short term.
