With 21 business days of activity, Automotive terminals reached a production of 46,490 vehicles in November, 13.4% more than in October and an improvement of 42.7% compared to the 32,570 units that were produced in the same month of 2020. “Even with three more business days of production compared to the previous month, the sector maintains a good performance that is reflected through the increase in daily production,” said the president of Adefa, Martín Galdeano.
In the accumulated from January to November, the sector produced 394,904 units (passenger and utility vehicles), marking a 74% improvement compared to the 227,015 units produced in the same period in 2020. In November, 32,513 vehicles were exported, 25.3% more than in October; and, against the same month of 2020, the sector registered a growth of 182.6% in shipments abroad.
In the accumulated of eleven months, the sector exported 239,672 vehicles and registered an improvement of 98.6% compared to the same period in 2020, when 120,691 units were shipped to various markets. “70% of what was produced was exported and that allows us to consolidate ourselves as the first industrial exporting sector and the second exporting complex in the country, representing 28.3% of Argentina’s manufacturing of industrial origin (MOI) exports”, Galdeano remarked.
In this framework, the executive added that “together with the value chain, we continue working on the development and implementation of proposals, of policies that help to ensure that we have an industry of scale, competitive, that continues to invest, that exports more and new markets and to enhance its already prominent economic multiplier effect “. For this, “it is important that measures such as the Investment Promotion Law are approved before the end of the year,” Galdeano said.
With regard to wholesale sales, in November the automotive sector as a whole sold 27,811 units to the network, 10% more than the October deliveries and 11.5% less than the volume for the same month last year. In the accumulated of 2021, wholesale sales (to dealers) stood at 301,666 units, 10.2% more than in the same period of 2020 in which 273,795 vehicles were marketed.
