Within the framework of “Renault E-Tech 100% electric days”, the first three models that will arrive in our country with the 100% electric E-Tech range were officially presented: Kwid, Kangoo and Megane, the ambassador of this new stage of Renault.
For two days, important specialists, as well as guests from the electric mobility value chain, met at the Renault E-Tech 100% electric days to discuss the present and future of sustainable mobility together with journalists, representatives of the Renault dealer network, government officials, among other special guests.
Along these lines, Renault Argentina was the first brand to launch a 100% electric vehicle in Argentina, with Kangoo ZE in 2018. There have been more than 110 units sold since its launch.
“For Renault, electrification is a fact. Our more than 12 years of experience in electrification make us a pioneering brand that is at the forefront of mobility,” said Pablo Sibilla, president and general director of Renault Argentina.
“We are extremely proud to have been the first brand to introduce the first 100% electric vehicle in the Argentine market in 2018, with Kangoo ZE. Today, with this event, we continue to bring this technology closer to people, to continue being a fundamental player in its development with a single objective: to democratize access to this type of vehicles and engines in our country for all our clients,” added the manager. That was the scenario to announce the start of reservations for the 100% electric Kwid E-Tech in Argentina, with an initial quota of 50 units. Among the advantages of the model: the ease of recharging its battery, which has a capacity of 27 kWh and can be charged up to a 20 amp household outlet.
Acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h takes only 4.1 seconds. The autonomy is 298 kilometers in urban use.
The Kangoo, meanwhile, has an improved load capacity of up to 4.3 m3 and 800 kg. With a 90 kW motor, the 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech provides a range of up to 300 km in the WLTP cycle.
Finally, the Megane E-tech 100% is the first representative of a new design language called “emo-tech” (in reference to emotional). With its all-electric project in its DNA, with the new engine that delivers 160 kW/220 hp of power and 300 Nm of torque, in addition to four levels of regenerative braking. The Megane E-Tech accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The range is 450 km and with a fast DC charger it is possible to charge 100 km in just eight minutes. As for private charging solutions, single-phase personal chargers (7.4 kW power) and three-phase business chargers (22 kW power) will be offered for sale, which will have the option of being financed by Mobilize Financial Services.
For semi-public charging, it presented an important agreement with the company Chargebox net, the most important charging network in Argentina, which currently has more than 50 charging points and in 2024 plans to extend to more than 100 points. In this network, Mobilize Power Solutions will sponsor 25 charging points in the first stage.
