Maxim Ryazanov, technical director of the Fresh Auto network of car dealerships, said that today almost no car is insured against theft.
According to the expert, in the first half of this year in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the statistics of theft increased to 0.35% and 0.17%, respectively.
Ryazanov stressed that the attackers began to use more and more technological methods of theft. Fraudsters, he said, can use readers that reproduce the key fob code, as well as code grabbers. The latter remove the anti-theft security systems of the engine.
“Even monitoring from the satellite can be turned off by running a jammer on the GSM channel. The quickest way for attackers is to neutralize alarms on cars with remote control, ”Maxim Ryazanov explained in an interview with the Prime agency on December 12.
According to the expert, in order to protect a car from theft, it is necessary to focus on the theft statistics. So, Toyota Camry is the most frequently stolen car; a two-level security complex equipped with digital blocks, double bonnet locks, door blocks and glass armor is suitable for its protection. A less popular car among scammers is Skoda. The car of this manufacturer can be protected with an electronic anti-theft device or telematic alarm, the specialist concluded.
On October 14, the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate gave drivers advice on how to secure their car from theft. So, the traffic police recommends equipping the car with an alarm. In this case, you should pay attention to the mode of its operation in order to avoid cases of scanning.
In addition, you should leave the car in a guarded parking lot, in the garage, as well as in the most illuminated and visible places in the courtyard and street areas.
The traffic police also recommended not to trust unauthorized persons to drive the car, and also to insure the car.
On September 22, AlfaStrakhovanie published a list of the most stolen cars in Russia based on the results of eight months of 2021.
The first place in the list was taken by the Hyundai Santa Fe. It accounts for 13% of all insurance claims. The second place with the result of 11% was shared by Kia Rio and Mitsubishi Outlander. The top five also included Kia Sportage – 7% and Toyota Camry – 6%.
