Which cars do Instagram users love and which dream cars are particularly popular with German TV users? Last but not least, the musical taste of one or the other vehicle driver is surprising.
What is “in” and what is “out”? Nowhere is the verdict on this question more devastating than on social networks. And number one in this area is Instagram. The calibration meter is the hashtag #DreamCar and the fact how often a picture is given this virtual accolade. The rental vehicle comparison website “StressFreeCarRental.com” has now got to the bottom of the matter and presents a surprising result.
The number one dream car is not a Ferrari or any other hyper car, but the Dodge Challenger. The muscle car relegated the Lamborghini Aventador (21 percent) to second place with the hashtag #DreamCar (22 percent). So there he is, the expected athlete. But it is surprising that it is not a Ferrari, Pagani or e-sportsman, but the somewhat aging bull from Sant ‘Agata Bolognese. A celebrity bonus has probably helped the American to the wafer-thin victory. Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger, bad boy rapper Snoop Dogg and singer Billie Eilish swing behind the wheel of the Challenger.
The star empire then strikes back in third place. Not with a Mercedes AMG GT, but with the G-Class. The classic off-road vehicle is well received by both the style-conscious traditionalists and the bad boys. It is not for nothing that a (mostly black) G-Class chases through the picture in many action blasters – and not just once. Before the Porsche aficionados get a gasp, it should be noted that the Porsche GT3-RS is in fourth place, but with twelve percent it has a respectable gap of six points to the off-road vehicle of the neighbor. Incidentally, with the Mercedes AMG CLA (ten percent), he has a second model in fifth place in the top group. One would not have expected that only six percent of the Bugatti Chiron would only be classified as a dream car afterwards.
The Audi R8 (5 percent), the Ford Mustang (4 percent), the Nissan GT-R (2 percent) and the Volkswagen Golf R (also 2 percent) complete the top ten, which are noticeably more horsepower-heavy are shaped. It is also surprising that no electric vehicle was able to place itself in front. Neither a Tesla nor the Rimac Nevera or its brother Pininfarina Battista, who have plenty of power, made it into the top ten.
After the always-on generation of smartphones, let’s tackle the question of which drivers prefer which film genre. Especially since streaming services have definitely arrived in German households. Netflix in particular is very popular in this country. According to “mobile.de”, German drivers prefer to watch comedies (15 percent). Most of them own a mid-range car from Ford (17.6 percent) or VW (17.4 percent). And what do you laugh about the most between Flensburg and Garmisch-Partenkirchen? Regardless of the car brand, the American series “Big Bang Theory” and “The Simpsons” are particularly popular with 43.2 percent each. Sheldon and Homer are especially popular with Seat drivers. More than half (53.4 percent) of the fans of the Spanish car brand are enthusiastic about both sitcoms.
German viewers are predictable for domestic series. Stromberg especially thinks men (33.5 percent) and drivers of upper middle-class cars (34 percent) are great. As expected, things look different with “Good times, bad times”. Women (39.2 percent) like to watch the RTL soap opera, which is why small cars (32 percent) are also the preferred automobile. It is not surprising that the Mini Cooper are very popular with this group.
According to “mobile.de”, streaming music is not that popular with German drivers. A third are giving streaming services the cold shoulder. Spotify (27.5 percent) and Amazon Music (18.2 percent) are very popular with those who get involved in the digital sound experience. Interesting: Apple plays a subordinate role in music streaming with only 4.2 percent for drivers. When it comes to smartphones, the iPhone only plays the role of the polite bystander, because the number one is Samsung phones. Korean cell phones are particularly popular with Opel drivers (47.7 percent). For drivers of products with a lightning bolt on the radiator grille, fans of German songs are number one – in other words, hits. Number one is pop music, with almost a quarter (24.7 percent) turning the volume control, followed by rock (17.6 percent) and oldies (13.3 percent). In the case of the latter, nouns are omen. Because the fans of the classics are 61 years old and drive an SUV.
