In Russia, from January to November 2021, 718,922 new crossovers and SUVs were sold, which is 51% of the total sales of passenger cars in the country. This was reported on December 15 by the analytical agency “Autostat”.
It is noted that since 2015 this indicator has been constantly growing (from 37% to 51%). According to the agency’s experts, the share of crossovers and SUVs in the Russian market will continue to grow.
Now the overwhelming majority of brands represented in the Russian Federation, the share of crossovers in sales exceeds 50%, and for many it reaches 100%. Only for car brands Citroen, Kia, Mini, Skoda and Volkswagen this figure is less than half of sales, and for the Russian Lada it is minimal.
On December 6, it was reported that 125,466 new cars were sold in Russia in November 2021, which is 20.4% less than in November 2020.
However, in annual terms, the result for January-November 2021 is positive: 1,439,045 cars sold, which is 6.9% more than in the same period last year.
