The Japanese company Nissan announced the launch of a special modification of the Nissan Bluebird – the first car to roll off the assembly line in 1986.
The custom-built Nissan Newbird was fitted with the all-electric powertrain of the Nissan LEAF electric vehicle, the brand’s press office reported on December 16.
The original gasoline internal combustion engine and gearbox are replaced with a LEAF engine, inverter and battery.
The power steering, braking and heating systems have been updated and modified for the electric version. A special suspension was also installed to support the additional weight of the battery.
The driving range of the car without recharging is 210 km. Acceleration to 100 km / h is less than 15 seconds.
On October 19, it was reported that Nissan will unveil a new electric crossover in 2025.
The car will replace the Leaf electric hatchback in the Nissan model range. The car will be built on the CMF-EV architecture, which was developed as a universal modular platform. It aims to provide the foundation for the next generation of electric vehicles built by all companies in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
