In 2021, the demand for used cars from abroad in Russia increased by 105%, the supply growth was 160% compared to 2020. This is stated in a press release from Avito Auto, which was received by Izvestia on December 28.
It is noted that the growth in the segment of used cars imported from abroad is associated with a general deficit and an increase in average prices in the Russian car market. The average price for used cars imported from abroad in 2021 was 750 thousand rubles, which is 27% more than last year.
According to the share of demand, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi are included in the top 5 popular brands of used cars imported from abroad in descending order.
The Toyota Alphard minivan is on the first line in terms of demand in the rating of models of cars imported from abroad, and the Nissan Leaf electric car is on the second place. The third position is taken by the Honda Stepwgn, the fourth by the Toyota Crown, and the fifth by the Toyota Estima.
Among the leading regions in terms of demand for used cars imported from abroad are Moscow and the Moscow Region, as well as the Krasnodar Territory. The share of the metropolitan agglomeration accounts for 13.8% of the federal demand for such vehicles, the share of the Krasnodar Territory – 10.24%.
