Earlier, on December 22, the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the third final reading adopted a law abolishing the mandatory technical inspection of personal vehicles.
Changes are made to Art. 5 of the Federal Law “On Technical Inspection of Vehicles and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” and Art. 15 of the Federal Law “On State Registration of Vehicles in the Russian Federation and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation”.
In November, the Russian government supported the United Russia party’s bill to abolish the mandatory vehicle inspection. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted on September 13 that motorists themselves monitor their own safety, so it would be right to give them the opportunity to personally monitor the condition of their car.
As Pavel Sigal, first vice-president of Opora Rossii, noted in an interview with Izvestia on November 9, the law can help millions of car drivers. According to the expert, the adoption of the law will save the family budget and time.
