Experts have listed the main fears of novice drivers

Experts of the service for buying and selling cars online “SberAuto” and the service for the safe ordering of services “SberServices” conducted a study and found out what most novice Russian drivers are afraid of.

According to a press release received by Izvestia on January 13, the fear that most often appears even in the process of learning to drive is the fear of breaking a car. It is not unfounded, because if used improperly, the vehicle may fail.

Another fear: people around you will laugh at the newbie. Such fear often haunts newcomers on the road: they worry that they will drive too slowly or miss everyone at intersections, and experienced drivers will overtake and cut short.

In addition, many young drivers feel like they are constantly violating traffic rules, so they are regularly in fear that they will be stopped by a traffic police patrol. At the same time, it is often novice drivers who are more responsible in observing the rules. The risk of being stopped for a beginner is exactly the same as for an experienced driver, and it depends only on driving style and compliance with traffic rules.

Also, newcomers on the roads are not confident in their abilities and constantly replay emergency scenarios in their heads. However, official statistics do not confirm the alarming predictions: according to the traffic police of Russia, announced at the end of 2021, drivers with less than five years of driving experience were responsible for the same number of accidents as motorists with five to ten years of driving experience.

The fear of not coping with parking haunts almost every novice driver entering the road. In this regard, experts advise beginners to make their first trips in the company of experienced acquaintances and practice with them in different types of parking lots.

In August, the experts of the SberAuto service conducted a study and found out what signs Russian motorists believe in.

The most popular superstition among motorists has become the relationship between washing a vehicle and the likelihood of rain. It is familiar to 58% of respondents, while only 36% of them believe that the omen really works.
